Harvey Keitel

Biografie:
Un produs Brooklyn, unde s-a nascut pe 13 mai 1939, Harvey Keitel a crescut ca un delicvent. La varsta de 16 ani insa, este trimis in Liban unde s-a inrolat in fortele marine.

Harvey Keitel si Martin Scorsese au debutat pe marele ecran cu Who's That Knocking at My Door? (1968). Cinci ani mai tarziu, au colaborat la Mean Streets; si in anii '70, in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) si Taxi Driver (1976), care au fost cele mai remarcabile filme ale deceniului.

Din nefericire, cariera lui a suferit o mare pierdere cand a pierdut rolul principal din filmul lui Francis Ford Coppola, Apocalypse Now. A petrecut mare parte din anii '80 jucand in filme obscure sau mai putin semnificative, salvat de filmul lui Scorsese, The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) pana in momentul cand a fost distribuit in Thelma & Louise in 1991, care a fost un succes.

Harvey Keitel a continuat sa-si demonstreze abilitatea de a juca atat in filme cu ganagsteri si erou pozitiv tot restul deceniului, trecand de la o performanta la alta in filme precum Pulp Fiction (1994), Clockers (1995) si Copland (1997).

Unul dintre cele mai remarcabile personaje ale sale vine din colaborarea cu Paul Auster la Smoke si Blue in the Face (ambele in 1995); a mai lucrat cu Auster in 1998 in drama romantica Lulu on the Bridge.

In 1999, Harvey Keitel a mai fost vazut intr-o varietate de filme, ale lui Tony Bui, cum ar fi Three Seasons, in care a jucat in rolul unui soldat american in cautarea fiicei pierdute in Vietnam si in filmul regizat de Jane Campion, Holy Smoke.
