Steve Martin

Biografie:
Este greu sa-l recunoastem pe Steve Martin de astazi, actorul faimos ce a aparut in comedii absurde si drame usoare, cu cel ce facea stand-up comedy in anii '70.
Putini stiu ca inainte de a deveni actor el a castigat un premiu Emmy pentru scenariul showului TV "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour".

Musicalul esuat Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978), i-a oferit lui Martin primul sau rol pe marele ecran, dupa care a mai aparut in filmul, la care a lucrat si ca scenarist, "The Jerk" (1979). A mai aparut in filme ce nu au cunoscut adebaratul succes, precum: The Absent-Minded Waiter, Pennies From Heaven (1981) si Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982).

S-a descurcat mai bine in rolul chirurgului egoist din The Man With Two Brains (1983), dar adevaratul succes l-a cunoscut in 1984 cu filmul All of Me. Rol ce l-a cosacrat ca un adevarat actor de comedie, castigand mai multe premii si fiind foarte laudat de critici. A uimit si mai mult atunci cand a interpretat roluri mai serioase, atinse de un umor foarte subtil, precum: Roxanne (1987), Parenthood (1989) si Grand Canyon (1991).

Pierzandu-si mantaua de "un nebun si salbatic" actor de comedie, Steve Martin a debutat in 1988 pe scena intr-o adaptare reusita a piesei "Waiting for Godot", dupa care in 1992 a repetat performanta cu piesa "Leap of Faith".
